Show time!

Hey it's Splash again! Today is the first show for the play I am in. As I told you in a different post, I am in Willy Wonka. This week was the most important week of all because if you missed one practice this week, you were out of the play! So anyways, I am sorta nervous. Last night was the dress rehearsal and it went good, so I am pretty sure we will do fine today. As they say in the play, "Think Positive!" I am also excited for this play because I have 2 parts! I am a candy dancer and oompa loompa. To me, they are the most fun parts! To be a candy dancer and oompa loompa it is hard work! I have to change costumes REALLY fast because I start out as a candy dancer in Act 1 but during intermission I have to change into oompa loompa costume because that's what I am for Act 2! It can be stressful!!! Even though we all have been working hard, and even though there has been lots of stress, it's paid off. If you're into acting, go with it! I am not gonna do a school play next year because it interferes with my favorite sport, swimming, to much. Thanks for reading! Keep checking and I will tell you how the play went tomorrow! Bye!!!

Earthquake!

Hey it's Splash again! Guess what?! Today at 4:37 am, an earthquake happened in Southern Illinois. Where I live, people felt it but I was sound asleep. Then at about 2:15 pm there was an aftershock and that time I did feel it. I was on the computer and my desk, computer, and floor shook! My mom's make-up table and scale shook too. My brother was at his desk and that shook also! It's very weird to feel an earthquake here, so today was cool, for me that is. I thought it was just so cool how an earthquake from Southern Illinois could make my town shake! The earthquake was 5.4 on the Richter scale. It was so cool. It was all over the news this morning. You're probably wondering how I could be home all day, but I didn't have school! Oh yeah! Anyways, the news say there should be aftershocks all this month! So if you didn't catch this one, you might have another chance to feel one! Who knew an earthquake could have aftershocks all month long?! Well that's all for now! BYE!

Sick :-(

Hey it's Splash again! Today I am at home sick. I really don't feel good. My head hurts, my stomach is bugging me, and I have a fever of 102.4! I have allergies and that is part of the problem. I have to go and perform a play tomorrow and I might not. That would stink if I couldn't go so I am gonna try to make sure I am well by then. If I take my medicine and get some rest I am pretty sure I could go tomorrow! If you don't want to get sick then do the following. Wash your hands, wear a coat when it's chilly, wear a hat if your head is wet. If you do these then it might help prevent you from getting sick. I promise you do NOT want what I have. I am hoping that I will be able to perform tomorrow! I hope you're enjoying the nice weather. Yesterday looked really nice but I couldn't play outside because I was sick that day too! Please pray that I will get better and be able to perform tomorrow. I would really appreciate that! Well I am gonna go take a bath and see if that helps my headache go away. BYE and stay healthy!!!

Banquet

Hey it's Splash again! Today, for my swim-team, we had a banquet! It was so much fun! All my friends were there and we had a blast. We got to eat, then listen to the coaches speak, then we got our awards!! After that there was more talking and then we got to watch a slideshow of pictures of the WHOLE team! My friends and I put the video together. It was so much fun doing it with them! WOW, if I could do it again, I would. We have the banquet every year and I am always looking forward it. If you play a sport and you have banquets, then maybe you know how fun they are! I always LOVE watching the slideshows and getting called up for a trophy, and stuff. It is just unbelievably fun! My coaches are always so funny when you get called up. They thank you and make jokes and everyone laughs. Every single kid on the team that goes to these banquets, when they walk up to get their trophy, they always have a huge smile on their face. I always love getting the trophies.I have 5 now! Well thanks for reading and I hope you had a good weekend! Bye!

Recess and Stroke Clinic

Hey it's Splash again! Today at recess, my friend and I were doing piggy-back ride. I didn't get on her back all the way but I did get on. My friend tripped and she fell, so did I. I got cuts on each of my hands, and I also got the wind nocked out of me! My friend got a cut on each of her hands, and her knee. I also hurt my knee, and it really hurt. When we both went to the office to get band-aids I didn't feel very good. I felt like I could puke! When I went into the lunchroom and was walking toward my seat all my other friends said I looked VERY pale. So, then I went back to the office and just sat down and cooled off. Lunch finished before I could start so I stayed after with my friend and we finished eating. Later, I had to get some ice for my knee, and so did my friend. We couldn't hardly walk up and down the stairs! When I got out of school, I felt better. So now onto Stroke Clinic. We worked on all 4 strokes, turns, and starts. We basically just reviewed how to do the strokes correctly and stuff like that. Then we also reviewed starts and turns. After we did all that I raced my friend. It was a 50 yard freestyle. He beat me, but by a stroke. He is very tall for his age so he has longer strokes than I do. He always calls me short, but I reply "I'm not short, I'm fun-sized!" Then he walks away. And that's how I roll! Thanks for reading!

Wonderful weather

Hey it's Splash again! Everyone loves great, warm weather, right? Well I know I do! Today, I played outside with my friends. It was great. We rode bikes, ran around, played in a tree house, and picked flowers. I thought it was like a miracle that the weather became so wonderful! We rode bikes to the park and we played there. Then we ran around, near my house. When we played in the tree house we spied on the boys. It was awesome!! Then when we picked flowers, we found some really beautiful ones and we put them in a pile and it smelled like a bottle of perfume. Then we just sat and talked and the sun was on our faces and we felt like we were at the beach! It was so nice out and I am hoping that at least you went out for 2 minutes. If you didn't, shame shame! If you did go outside leave a comment saying what you did! I really want to know. So, here are some ideas of what you can do outside on a great day. You can go to the park, play in a club house, run, bike, jump rope, hopscotch, sit in the sun, lemonade stand, help with some gardening, and any thing you can think of! In the summer you can swim or run through a sprinkler! So when it's nice out, go outside and have fun! Thanks for reading and enjoy the weather!

Party time!!

Hey it's Splash again. I am so sorry I haven't been blogging lately. Again, I was busy. So I just got back from a party and I thought it was so much fun! My friend who was hosting it is turning 10 on Monday. So the theme of her party was a Detective theme! Someone had been kidnaped a few nights before and we had to find out who did it. Now the reason it was a big deal for us to find out who kidnaped this person is because everyone at the party was a suspect!! The person who was kidnaped was supposed to get his grandfather's fortune after he died and the grandfather died just a few days before today. So, many of the suspects were supposed to get some of his money for different things and he was going to give them some money to use but he died before he could give it to them. When they told the grandfather's grandson what the grandfather had said he would do the grandson said that it was his fortune so he wouldn't use it for them. We were all suspects of the kidnapping because if the grandson was gone at midnight tonight we would get the fortune. But after lots of work we found out who kidnaped the grandson! It was the maid of the Castle! She had done it! So we found the grandson and he was a stick with a shirt stuffed with straw and a pumpkin head! It was s much fun and it was also really funny. Some themes for parties are, smileys, animals, fun school, summer, hula, runway, supermodel, cars, mario, pirates, lego, and anything else you can think of! Well thanks for reading!

Lunch serving

Hey it's Splash again! I hope you guys had a great April Fool's day! Sorry I haven't been blogging I have just been really busy. So today, yesterday, and Monday I had to serve lunch at my school. On Monday I served the pineapples in the lunch. Yesterday I served the grape juice. Today I served the mixed fruit. When I served the grape juice I thought it was easy and I bet you did too but when I served both fruits... well, it was sorta hard. When I served the pineapples I had to make sure I didn't drip any juice or pineapples. And when I served the mix fruit I had to watch out for the same stuff. When I was serving the pineapples (don't worry, they're not the big ones, they're chopped in little pieces) people would grab the lunch tray while I was putting the pineapples on. So then they dripped everywhere and I got in a little trouble for making my area sticky. I think serving is very fun but sometimes messy. Today when I was serving the mixed fruit it also dripped and it got all over my arm. So when I was done my arm was sticky and there was a little mess. MY BAD, OK?! So tomorrow when I serve I am not sure what part of the lunch I will be serving, but I hope it's sorta easy!!! Thanks for reading. Oh, and if you get offered to serve lunch, you should say yes!
