SPRINGFIELD!!!!!

OH MY GOSHNESS!!! THAT WAS THE BEST PRACTICE EVER! AJ's practices are always hard. We did at least, 8000 meters! That is the best! His practice rocked today. It was so much fun, and the water was actually kinda warm! Everyone was breathing really hard. We did a lot of sprints and kick. Also some long distance, my fave! When we first got in the pool, it was FREEZING. I was numb. Then I got used to it, and so did everyone else. After the lunch break, when we had to get back in, it was cold again. But since the sun was out, I warmed up ten times faster then when we first got in. Anyway, I found out some good news today. We get AJ on Tuesday and Thursday nights! BRING ON THE HARDNESS! Wow, I can't wait. That was really fun and hard today. I am worn out! Haha. Our summer schedule starts now. Practices every day except Sunday! AHG! But I love the summer swimming season. It's always really fun. And my friend's birthday party soon. And my friend that lives in a different country, but always visits during the summer, is coming back on June 12!! She is swimming on the 13th in Springfield! Wow, I have the jitters. There are so many things to be excited about. Well, I'm gonna go work on my book I am writing. Thanks for reading another blog!

Springfield... again

Saturday... Springfield practice... with an awesome coach who I haven't had in a LONG time... A.J.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my gosh I can't wait. Last year his practices ROCKED! They were the best. You can ask anyone that went to all of them. They were hard, and long. Just what I liked. The 50 meter pool is fun to swim in with him. I am not sure why, but I LOVE long course in 50 meter pools. And I can't wait to swim with A.J.! They are always hard. OMG I AM SO EXCITED! Now we know they won't be easy like last Saturday. La la la la la I can't wait la la la la la! Anyway, I am on summer break, and it has been really fun! I spent the night at a friend's house, and we played a prank on her little sister. We also had spa night. That was fun too. I LOVE SUMMER BREAK!!! My summer consists of:
TONS of swimming
Swimming
More swimming
Yeah a LOT of swimming
Hanging out with friends
Sleepovers!
Maybe vacation?
Having fun!
Who said my whole summer was swimming?! Haha. I do other things too! Anyway, I gotta get going!! Thanks for reading!

Springfield

So Springfield practices weren't what I expected. Less I mean. That's okay. Sunday night with Gold was amazing. A very hard practice. I realized that my legs were extremely sore during this practice tonight. Gold is always really hard, but last night was H-A-R-D. But fun. How does that work? Well you know me, I like the hard stuff. Anyway, it's storming pretty bad here. When lightning strikes, it lights up the whole sky, and you can see the lightning in the sky. It's pretty cool, but a little scary. Haha. Okay, back to the point. I really really really like gold practices, but here is the bad news. That was our last one. In the summer, our schedule changes dramatically. Instead of having practice on Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights. We have double practices on those days. We still have night practices though. Except Friday. We only have morning practice there. And instead of a 2 hour practice on Saturday, we have a 4 hour practice. And no practices on Sunday. And we have night practices on Thursday and Tuesday.  Anyway, you can see how we have to get used to a different schedule in the summer. But the one thing that changes for every practice besides Saturday is that it's only 1 hour and a half. For each. That flies by when your swimming. Oh my goodness my lights keep flickering! DON'T THE POWER GO OUT PLEASE! IT'S TOO HOT!!!!! It was 90 today. I really don't like hot weather. It makes me sweaty. And I don't like being sweaty. Haha. Well, I gotta go! Thanks for reading!!!
Here comes the hotness of summer,

LONG practices

On Saturday, at 7:30 A.M., a few kids in the group of silver, and the whole group gold, will be heading down to Springfield, to have a 4 hour practice in a long course pool. In Peoria, we don't have a long course pool, and the closest one that is open is Springfield. I can't wait! I love Springfield practices. There are EXTREMELY hard. The pool isn't heated, and it's supposed to be a little chilly, so we are going to have to swim almost non-stop. It will be too cold to stop. I am looking forward to the torture, because I LOVE long things. Just to keep warm we will have to swim some very hard core sets, and by the end of it, it will add up to about 8000 meters. The practices start at 7:30 and end at 11:30, with only a half hour lunch break. There is no time for drills, we have to keep moving to stay warm! There will be fast intervals that we must make. We have to work hard, because the head coach is watching our every move!! Ivan, the head coach, told people that sat out, not to come back. NO SITTING OUT!
Rules for Springfield Practices
1. NO SITTING OUT
2. MAKE THE INTERVALS
3. WORK EXTREMELY HARD
4. NO CHEATING
5. NO GOOFING OFF
Those are rules you have to follow if you want to keep coming back. Well I'm pretty hungry, I should go eat. Bye!

SCHOOL'S OUT FOR SUMMA!

Hiya! I'm a sixth grader now! WOO WOO! Our last day was Friday! I am so relieved. It was a rough school year, lemme tell ya! I have to admit, it was a fun one. I can't wait for next year. I get to switch classes! The only reason I'm scared for sixth grade is the homework. HOMEWORK. The worst thing in the world. I'm going to be REALLY busy this coming school year, but I'm not going to worry about it. It's time to enjoy summer! On Saturday, my friend had a party that was the theme of our swim team. It was so fun. We didn't have swim practice yesterday because it's Memorial Day Weekend. So, we got on the huge trampoline in her backyard, pulled out the hose, soaked ourselves and since the hose didn't reach the trampoline, we filled up buckets and watering cans and poured them on the tramp. We did it over an over until it was SOAKED. Then we did butt busters, and all the water sprayed up. We jumped really high, and got some good pictures. It was so fun. Just the perfect way to start off our summer. :D. Well, if you're still in school, have fun hehe. If you're not, have fun in the sun! Thanks for reading.
Happy Summer,

Carbondale!!

Hiya guys!! I just got back from Carbondale on Sunday. I got 100% best times! I have a cold, so that is really good for getting fast times. I got the JO in the 400 free, (It's not a 500 because it's long-course) and was SUPER close in the 200 free. My nose is still super stuffy, but it's getting better. Carbondale was super fun!! The best swim meet ever!!! We went up to the top of the water tower, at the cabins, where we stayed. (When I say we, I mean all my friends and stuff.) Then, when it got dark out, we played freeze tag. But this is the fun part. My friend's mom brought glowsticks, and so each one of us got a different color. Then you picked a partner, who had almost the same color as you, and when you were frozen/it, that was the person who helped you. It was SOOOOO much fun!!!!!! Oh yeah, I wanna tell you, I get out of school on FRIDAY!!!!!! Yay! This week we are cleaning the whole classroom, so there is hardly any work. Just morning work, and then in the afternoon, math! I can't wait for Friday! We get out at 11:00 AM. I'm almost a 6th grader!! Okay well, I gotta get going! Talk to you later! Thanks for reading

Triathlon results

Hey there! I am so sorry I haven't blogged in forever. I have been so busy, and when I tried to write one last week, it turns out there was an error so it didn't post! AHH! Anyway, my triathlon went really well. I got like 35-36 minutes. The bike was the hardest. I was on a mountain bike and there was a big part going uphill. And the wind was blowing against us. It was pretty tough. The swim was the easiest of course. But on the transition, they made you walk to the place where your bikes were. All these kids that finished before me (they did the shorter one) were running to the grass and they slipped. So they made everyone slow down. The run was okay, but after a 4 mile bike, you're pretty tired. There was this little kid, from the Mexican team, (That had REALLY expensive bikes and stuff) and he was doing the shorter triathlon, but everyone was counting on him "beating" me. I could hear them yelling. I wanted to wait until I saw the finish line to start sprinting because I didn't know how far away it was. Well when that boy came up on my feet, I was like, Oh who cares where it is, HE IS NOT PASSING ME!, and then I just full out sprinted. Ha, I beat him. I really want to thank my dad for all this. He put a lot of time into it, and that's special to me. Thanks, Dad.

Irena Sendler VS Al Gore

Did you read my title? Well that is what this blog is about.
Irena Sendler was a Christian who lived in the time of WWII. Her father was a doctor, and always told her to help anyone in need, no matter their religion, social status, or nationality. Irena's father died of typhus. (He caught it from a Jewish patient.)
Irena disguised herself has a infection control nurse and went into the ghetto at least three times a day to try and persuade parents to letting her smuggle their children out using false identities. Sendler carefully recorded each child's Jewish name, Polish name, and address on scraps of tissue paper. She would hide  the records in glass jars to be buried so after the war, the birth parents could find their children.
Despite her nurse's disguise, her expertly forged ghetto transit papers and meticulous skill at smuggling children out in toolboxes, suitcases, old sewer pages, and even coffins, but Sendler was caught. She was arrested and tortured for three months in Pawiak Prison, having her legs and feet broken. She was to be executed, but before it was carried out, Zegota (Polish underground) had spies bribe a guard to help the badly injured Sendler escape. Amazingly she still worked in the Polish underground.
After the war, Irena was shunned into obscurity.

No one knew about Irena until four Kansas City students found about her. She was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007, but the schmuck Al Gore, won it. He gave a freaking PowerPoint presentation on how he "saved the Earth of global warming." Yeah right! Irena saved 2500 children! She was tortured, and went into hiding so they wouldn't come find her after she had escaped! Not many people have that kind of courage.
So what do you think?
IRENA or Al Gore
I pick Irena. I hate Al Gore.
Irena died in May of 2008, at the age of 98.

Puppies and Triathlons?

Yesterday we visited the Animal Shelter. We found a dog we really liked. It was a Rat Terrier. It was so adorable. We said we'd go back after we thought about it, but the day ran out and they closed. So we might go back Monday. My parents are still thinking about it. I really want that dog. If we can't save all of them, then why can't we just save one? My big dog, Hildy, loves small dogs and I think she would like this dog. I would take this dog on walks, because it can't yank my arm out. I'd also clean up Hildy and the dog's poop. Yuck, but I would do it. My brother could feed them and give them water. I'd love to take Hildy on walks, but she is so strong! I really would take responsibilities because it makes me feel better on the inside. Hildy would love a playmate and this dog is so cute. It's not yappy or hyper, it's just perfect for us. I really think we should get this dog.
Next, is my triathlon which is in exactly one week! AHH! Yesterday I went biking with my swim coach, and we did like seven miles? Then we ran a half mile. It was really fun. This is what I have to do:
Swim 200 meters
Bike 4 miles
Run 1.2 miles
I'll sleep well that night! Haha. Today is the PAWW banquet, so I have to get ready at like 1:00. Anyway, thanks for reading and have a nice Sunday.

Running around

Track 5 days in a row!! AHH! Practice Monday, meet Tuesday-Thursday, and another practice yesterday! Lemme tell you how I did.
Tuesday: 800 meters. Gained time, but couldn't feel my toes because it was so cold.
Wednesday: 4x200 and 4x400. I felt like I was going so fast! And I think I was :).
Thursday: 1600, 800, 4x400. My coach took me out of the 800. 1600 I gained time but I always have to do the race twice before I really know how I should do it.
So there are my results. I have to say I did pretty good overall. I love running. It's so fun!! What kind of sports do you do? I love SWIMMING and I really like RUNNING. Today after swim practice I am going bike riding with swim coach and then I am training for a triathlon which is next Sunday, if I am not mistaken. I am excited. I love my swim coach!! :D
Soooo, that's what has been going on lately. Nothing really. Just the normal weekdays. But I AM happy to say this! Only 26 more school days until SUMMER!! YES! Well, ttfn.

Unfair

It's so unfair and stupid. How's this going to help us? Here's what I'm talking about. I used to swim with the higher group, gold, once a week, but that was before it got crowded. Now me and some of my friends can't do that anymore. I was hoping to swim with them over spring break, but nope can't do that either. The practices that we are doing in my group aren't helping us either. We do about 1,600 yards a practice, while gold is doing 12,000 yards a day. We get a "break" from swimming over spring break. YEAH RIGHT! How the CRAP is this going to help us?! Seriously. I'm so mad! My stroke is already nice and smooth, and I need the yards! How are we supposed to get good times? Gold is swimming 12,000 yards a day while we are all sitting on our butts! I'm so sick of laziness, and being unfair. All the kids in gold are whining about how they are sore, while all we can say is, "We are sitting on our butts all day doing nothing. Sounds fun hmm?" GOSH I'M SO SICK OF IT! Can you actually think of the outcome this will bring us?! If we are only doing 1,600 yards a day, and we go to a meet and swim long distance, how do YOU think we'll do? I just love PAWW >:O

Track meets

On Wednesday I had a track meet, and I ran the 800 and the 4x100 relay. I did good in both of them!! I love the 800 so much!!!!!!!! Yesterday I ran the 1600 and the 4x400 relay. I was so exhausted after my 1600! I would rather do the 800. The 4x400 relay went really good. I was really tired though. But I have another meet on Monday, and I am so ready! My coach said that I was probably one of the ONLY fifth graders that could run that fast in the mile. It was really fun I have to admit. Running and swimming are like the same. I would rather do the 500 free, over the 1000, but I would still do it. I would rather run the 800 over the mile, but I would still do it. So can you tell something out of the distance that I run/swim? Yeah you got it. I hate sprints :P! Surprising. Everyone loves sprints. Not me. Too short. BLAH! Anyways, a lot of my friends run. It's a blast. Track is really gonna help me with swimming too. I can already feel it in my legs hahaha. I'm jamming out to my iPod right now. Hmm, that was random. So I am pretty pumped for Monday. I REALLY want to run the 800. REALLY BAD! Thanks for reading. I'll blog in tomorrow about something....
